Ornua is actively seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering department as we continue our growth trajectory. The Multi Skilled Engineer will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, professional service to our stakeholders, and whilst ongoing maintenance and reactive tasks are necessary, our engineers need to be proactive and forward thinking in their approach to ensure that production continues to run with maximum efficiency enabling our clients’ needs to be met.

 

Based at Ornua Foods UK, our state of the art facility in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands, you will join a team of five Multi Skilled Engineers, managed by a Shift Manager. The wider engineer team is around forty strong with learning and development being integral to our teams and people strategies, we offer training opportunities throughout the department.

The Multi Skilled Engineer is responsible for;

 

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance tasks in line with the schedule and undertake emergency breakdown repairs
  • Following up tasks from PPM and order any spare parts required
  • Ensuring compliance to Health and safety/food safety standards at all times
  • Carrying out dynamic risk assessments in line with your daily tasks
  • Maintaining and improving standards of hygiene and housekeeping in all areas of the factory including the engineering office and workshop
  • Ensuring production lines are running in optimum condition
  • Assisting in the installation of new equipment to the site
  • Use and maintenance of the Mainsaver CMMS system
  • Development and upskilling where applicable
  • Providing both Reactive & PPM
  • Working on a Variety of Kit Including Cheese cutting equipment (Block/portion/Sliced/Grated), Conveyors, Multihead Weighers, Packaging Equipment & Metal detectors
  • Ensuring that equipment is set up and ready for shift start

 

 

What You Bring To The Role:

 

  • Trained to L3 and relevant qualification in Engineering (HNC/ HND) or equivalent work experience in a similar environment
  • Base knowledge of food production lines/process machinery from experience within FMCG/ food industry
  • PC competent (Word/Excel)
  • Experience in trouble shooting and fault-finding diagnostics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Continuous Improvement & lean experience

Job Summary:

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a 5+ PQE lawyer to join our dynamic, innovative and growing business.   You will be a key player in managing all legal matters that arise within Ornua Foods UK and Ornua Ingredients Europe, including foreseeing and managing risk, supporting innovation, advising on marketing claims, implementing contracts and navigating legal challenges.  You will also work collaboratively with the global legal team to support other international legal matters.

 

You will report to the Head of Legal for Ornua in Dublin.

 

Dynamic Working:

 

Ornua has a Dynamic Working policy in place which facilitates flexible hours and hybrid working.   Our in-office policy is to be in the office three days a week, [with two anchor days where all individuals are in the office.] This position will be based in our Leek office. Occasional travel may be required.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

 

  • As Ornua’s first UK based in-house counsel, you will work closely with business colleagues in Ornua Foods UK and Ornua Ingredients Europe to achieve their commercial goals in a compliant and responsible way.
  • Proactively identifying legal risks and emerging legislation impacting Ornua Foods UK and Ornua Ingredients Europe and helping colleagues navigate them by providing effective and practical solutions. Working across functions to implement the required practices, policies, and good governance.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating global and regional commercial agreements for sales, distribution, sponsorship and the purchasing of goods and services (media/advertising agencies, professional services, ingredients, logistics, digital).
  • Advising (in collaboration with regulatory and IP colleagues) on promotional and marketing activities in the UK.
  • Partnering with Ornua’s legal team and other functions to develop and implement compliance initiatives (e.g. sustainability, data privacy, competition law, anti-bribery, cyber security).
  • Managing dispute resolution, litigation and settlement negotiations (with external support where required).

 

Experience and Qualifications:

 

The The right candidate will:

 

  • Have at least 5 years of relevant legal experience with a strong emphasis on commercial contracts and marketing initiatives.  
  • Have experience in an in-house role in a fast-moving consumer goods food or beverage industry is preferred.
  • Ideally have Intellectual property experience.
  • Be self-motivated and can evidence working autonomously in a dynamic environment.
  • Have proven experience working collaboratively with business partners, such as marketing, innovation, procurement, sustainability as well as with colleagues in the legal team.
  • Be commercially minded, with the ability to understand the commercial objectives, anticipate the nature and magnitude of issues that could arise and identify practical risk-based solutions.
  • Have an appetite for learning and mastering new legal issues quickly and manage a diverse, changing workload.
  • Have strong communication and influencing skills; with the ability to communicate with business partners in clear, audience-appropriate and engaging language

 

This position is based in Leek, Staffordshire.  The role requires a minimum of 3 days on site per week.

The Credit and Collections Specialist is responsible for leading on;

  • Reducing debt due to Ornua.
  • Daily cash collection activities, proactively ensuring cash is received as invoices fall due      ( On team rotation)
  • Daily cash allocation (Each team member will have set customers they oversee)
  • Reviewing sales orders that do not initially pass internal credit checks sent to CC Manager to review.
  • Daily issue of sales invoices to customers, along with statements as required.
  • Regular dialogue with customers to identify errors and swift follow-up with the sales, supply chain and technical teams to resolve issues and queries.
  • Monitoring of performance against agreed KPIs, such as % of invoices overdue working with Finance Services’ team.

  • Completion of Weekly Aged Debtors report for review by Credit and Collections Manager (On team rotation)

  • Completion of the Customer Set Up Process and customer changes to master data for review by the Credit Collections Manager.
  • Attendance of the weekly team meeting to work through issues to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Attendance of the Sales /Finance team meeting to work together on customer issues across the site.
  • Ensuring GDNI and Customer returns is reviewed weekly and controlled between the team.
  • Other ad-hoc duties and reporting requirements as assigned by the Credit and Collections Manager.

 

What You Bring To The Role:

 

  • AAT qualified or part-qualified preferred or demonstrable and practical experience in a finance role, preferably Accounts Receivable
  • Experience of working with an ERP system, such as Infor, SAP, Sage
  • Proficient in Microsoft office software, most importantly Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills required, both internally and externally, using telephone or email to suit the circumstances.
